This endemic Galapagos Islands turtle is a giant land turtle. It is, along with the Seychelles turtle, one of the two most imposing land turtle species. A mature specimen can measure up to 1.20m for 400kg! Today, we cannot give with certainty the life expectancy of this species but it is estimated that it can live up to 200 years old.
